About FixItRight
Helping homeowners fix things since 2019
I grew up in a house where "call a repairman" wasn't really an option. My dad taught me that most home repairs aren't complicated — they just seem that way because nobody ever showed you how. A running toilet? Five-minute fix. A squeaky door? Thirty seconds. A tripped breaker? Even faster once you know where to look.
After spending a decade doing property maintenance and helping neighbors with their "emergency" repairs (spoiler: most aren't emergencies), I realized the same questions kept coming up. So I started writing guides. Simple ones. The kind I wish I'd had when I was starting out.
What You'll Find Here
Every guide on this site is written for people who've never picked up a wrench. No assumed knowledge, no skipped steps, no jargon without explanation. Just clear instructions that actually work.
I focus on repairs that are genuinely DIY-friendly — the stuff that doesn't require permits, specialized tools, or risking your safety. When something's beyond DIY territory, I'll tell you that too. There's no shame in calling a pro for the big stuff.
Why Free?
This site runs on ads. That's it. No courses to sell you, no membership fees, no "premium" guides behind a paywall. The information should be free because paying $200 for a plumber to jiggle a toilet handle is ridiculous.
If a guide helps you fix something yourself, that's the whole point.
